Rise from the ashes like a phoenix’s website

I’ve had this website for over a decade, and through the years it’s flexed a bit in form and function… first as personal blog, then an author site, then a repository for my serial fiction, at some point a spot for tabletop role-playing game posts, and – a bit more recently – a generalized portfolio for my narrative design work.

As you might be able to tell, I’ve gone through changes over the years as well, from author to podcaster to game dev, staying in some trenches longer than others. Through it all, though, I’ve remained a storyteller.

Maybe I’m just addicted to new beginnings. That’s what this is, in a way – a clearing of the slate. The old site was cluttered with the dregs of everything it’d ever been – the remains of SQL databases for architecture that no longer existed, and an endless maze of unused tags and categories. It finally got to the point where it was barely functional, a grotesque career homonuculus held together by abandoned projects and failed ventures.

So, time to start anew.

The new MCoorlim dot com is intended to serve two purposes.

First, a stream of consciousness blog. I writes what I writes. I’ve really fallen off with blogging over the last few years, moving on from writing books to making videos and producing games, but I fully intend – intend – to get back on that horse.

Second, it’s a general hub for my various projects. You’ll see links to them in the sidebar, but in short:

This is all as of mid-September 2021. I’m starting new projects all the time, as old ones run their course. For the most part these projects will be hosted on their own websites, but this site here is where I’ll be talking about them.

Oh, and on my Patreon as well. In greater detail, for my supporters. Who get free copies of what I produce. You like what you see, consider becoming one of my Patrons.

Well, that’s it, that’s me, that’s this site, that’s what I’m doing. If you really liked any of my old content – the Guide to NaNoWriMo, the web serials, the random title generator – don’t worry. I’ll probably be posting something similar soon… and even if I don’t, there’s always the wayback machine.
